I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
